According to the Meterology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), due to La Nina phenomenon, precipitation would be higher than normal for the same period.
"It would be around 20-40 percent higher than normal," said President Jokowi here on Tuesday.
The opposite of El Nino, La Nina is a naturally occurring phenomenon in which sea surface temperatures across the central and eastern Pacific Ocean are cooler than average.
According to the BMKG's Climate Change Information Center Head Supari, a La Nina climate pattern has appeared in the eastern Pacific Ocean.
"We hope that we could anticipate the impacts of La Nina and hydrometeorological disasters to acgricultural industries," the president stated.
