"We must respect the ongoing legal process," said President Jokowi here on Wednesday.
"The government always supports corruption eradication efforts in Indonesia," the President stated.
According to reports, KPK arrested as many as 17 persons during a sting operation last night, inlcuding the minister and his wife, Iis Rosita Dewi.
They are currently being examined by KPK investigators at the KPK head office in South Jakarta. The commission has to determine their status within 24 hours. The minister is a Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party politician.
"Just wait. We will give the official announcement. Give us time to work," KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri told reporters this morning.
