    Tourists Must Implement Health Protocols: South Tangerang Mayor

    Jakarta: South Tangerang Mayor Airin Rachmi Diany has said that tourists from Jakarta in South Tangerang must strictly implement health protocols.

    "A lot of Jakartans come here lately. They must strictly implement health protocols. South Tangerang is still imposing Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB)," the mayor said here on Thursday.

    According to her, the Banten provincial government is curretnly formulating a regional regulation (perda) on the implementation of health protocols in a bid to tackle the spread of covid-19 in the region.

    "It will be our legal basis," she stated.

    On Thursday afternoon, the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed 4,174 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 29,182.

    Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, from Wednesday noon to Thursday noon, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries across Indonesia was up by 3,540 to 218,487.

    Meanwhile, in the same period, the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths in the country was up by 116 to 10,856.
