Jakarta: The Jakarta provincial administration has permitted three cinema chains to resume operations by applying strict health protocols.

According to the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency's Tourism Industry Division Head Bambang Ismadi, the three cinema chains are CGV Indonesia, XXI and Cinepolis.

"CGV Indonesia will resume operations today," said the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency official here on Wednesday.

According to reports, CGV Indonesia will at first open four theatres, namely CGV Grand Indonesia, CGV AEON Mall Jakarta Garden City, CGV Green Pramuka Mall, and CGV Transmart Cempaka Putih.

"Although the capacity is limited to only 25 percent, this reopening hopefully can boost activities of local production houses and help economicc recovery in creative industry, expecially filming industry," CGV Indonesia spokesperson Hariman Chalid stated.

Earlier this month, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan decided to loosen the implementation of covid-19 restrictions in Jakata and replaced Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) with Transitional PSBB.
