    Jakarta: Immigration officials have denied entry to as many as 109 foreigners and Indonesian nationals in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

    "The 109 travelers have stayed in China over the past 14 days," Bambang Widodo, the Director of Stay Permits at the Directorate General of Immigration, stated here on Monday, February 17, 2020.

    According to the official, 85 travelers were rejected from entering Bali, 13 people were rejected in Jakarta, five people were rejected in Surabaya, five people were rejected in Medan, and one person was rejected at Batam Trade Center.

    "The travelers were asked to return," he explained.

    Last week, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo expressed condolences and sympathies to his counterpart President of the Republic of China Xi Jinping through a phone call over victims of Coronavirus occurred in China. 

    During the phone call, President Jokowi stated that Indonesia will always stand together with China through such difficult times like this.
