"Compared to the previous month, it dropped by 3.28 percent," the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) chairman Suhariyanto told a press conference here on Monday, December 2, 2019.
"Compared to October 2018, it rose by 4.86 percent," the BPS official added.
According to him, the number of foreign tourist arrivals is usually down in the third quarter. However, the figure is expected to rebound in the fourth quarter.
"The figure will increase in December. December is a holiday season," he stated.
Cumulatively, the number of foreign tourist arrivals stood at 13.62 million visits in the first ten months of 2019. It surged by 2.85 percent compared to the same period last year.
The agency earlier announced that Indonesia recorded an inflation rate of 0.14 percent in November 2019. It also revealed that Indonesia's annual inflation rate stood at three percent last month.
According to BPS chairman Suhariyanto, 57 cities surveyed by the agency experienced inflation, while other 25 cities experienced deflation.
