"Life, safety and health of workers and customers are our top priorities," the ministry's expert staff on interinstitutional relations Arief Budiman said in a release on thursday.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Wishnutama Kusubando recently introduced Guidebooks on Health Protocol in Hotels and Restaurants. He urged all stakeholders to be active in searching, understanding, and implementing health protocol with obedience and discipline.
These guidebooks are the derivative of Health Minister’s Decree No.HK.01.07/Menkes/382/2020 on the Health Protocol for Society in Public Places and Facilities in Preventing and Controlling Covid-19. The goal is to keep the safety and productivity of workers within the tourism and creative economy sector during this pandemic.
“The tourism industry should be prepared in being able to give the highest guarantee in hygiene, health, safety, and natural preservation in every products and services given to the tourists," Wishnutama stated in a release on Tuesday.
The guidelines consist of general guidelines and special guidelines.
General guidelines covering hotel and restaurant management, paying attention to the most recent information, preparing Standard Operational Procedure (SOP), providing and placing public written warnings, and applying basic health protocol for workers, guests, and other parties doing activities in hotel and restaurants such as wearing masks, keeping distance, and washing hands.
Whereas the special guidelines include three issues for hotel and restaurant services, namely guidance for business owners and managements in providing necessary facilities, guidance for guests, and employee guidelines.
