According to BPS chairman Suhariyanto, 57 cities surveyed by the agency experienced inflation, while other 25 cities experienced deflation.
Last month, the highest inflation was recorded in Manado with 3.3 percent. On the other hand, the lowest inflation was recorded in Malang with 0.01 percent.
"As many as 25 cities experienced deflation. The highest deflation was recorded in Tanjung Pandan with 1.06 perent. The lowest deflation was recorded in Batam and Denpasar with 0.01 percent each," the BPS leader told a press conference here on Monday, December 2, 2019.
"Deflation in Tanjung Pandan was caused by declining air transportation prices as well as fish prices," he added.
Based on the data from the agency, Indonesia's annual inflation rate stood at three percent last month. In the meantime, the country's calendar year inflation rate reached 2.37 percent last month.
