"We are very grateful. We welcome the implementation of this regulation. This is a form of rapid response from the central government. The hope is that through this regulation the investment climate in East Java will also improve," Khofifah said in Surabaya on Friday, November 29, 2019.
Khofifah explained that the regulation is in accordance with her proposal some time ago. Khofifah ensured that the acceleration of economic development in the region would be integrated and sustainable.
"The source of the budget is from the State Budget (APBN), the RegionalBudget (APBD), Cooperation between the Government and Business Entities, as well as other legitimate revenue sources," explained Khofifah.
According to Khofifah, the economic development in the Gerbangkertosusila area will be focused on connectivity. As a result, the availability of public transportation in the Gerbangkertosusila area will be properly available.
"We will immediately prepare a detailed plan and form a taskforce team related to the public transportation development including MRT, LRT and the option of adding commuter trains not only to Lamongan, but also to Tuban," said Khofifah.
Meanwhile, according to Khofifah, the development in the BTS area will be focused on infrastructure development to support tourists to be more comfortable.
"We hope that the acceleration of economic development in the East Java region, especially in the Gerbangkertosusila areas, BTS, Selingkar Wilis and Lintas Selatan areas, will be able to provide a broad multiplier effect for all parties," concluded Khofifah.
