Jakarta: The Covid-19 Task Force head Doni Monardo today said that the central government will allow nine sectors to resume their activities.

The sectors are mining, energy, manufacturing, construction, plantation, agriculture and livestock farming, fisheries and aquaculture, logistics, and distribution of goods.

"This plan is based on data-driven public health indicators," the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) head said here on Friday, June 5, 2020.

"According to the study, the policy has a minimal risk level. On the other hand, it creates a significant economic impact. These sectors will absorb a lot of workers," the official explained.

Nevertheless, the nine sectors must also implement strict health protocols. In the near future, the related ministries and government agencies will introduce preparatory measures, including education, socialization and simulation programs.

"The health protocols will be formulated by related ministries and government agencies," he stated.

As of Thursday, June 4, 2020, the task force has recorded 28,818 confirmed covid-19 cases, 8,892 confirmed recoveries and 1,721 confirmed deaths.
