Besides Kalla, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution, Industry Minister Airlangga Hartarto, and other high-ranking officials also attended the opening ceremony.
Themed "Implementation of Making Indonesia 4.0 Towards the Top 10 World Economic Countries", the two-day event gathered thousands of government officials, industry players and academicians.
"We will educate our human resources. They will be trained about the fourth industrial revolution," Minister Airlangga said.
The latest Prompt Manufacturing Index-Bank Indonesia (PMI-BI) pointed to an expansion in the manufacturing industry activity in the first quarter of 2019 as reflected by an index of 52.65%.
It was In line with the result of Bank Indonesia Business Survey that revealed the weighted net balance (WNB) of 1,00% in the first quarter of 2019.
The surge in the manufacturing industry was prompted by the rise of new order, resulted from the increasing domestic demand due to the upcoming festive season of Ramadhan dan Idul Fitri 2019.
Based on economic sub sector, the expansion was mainly driven by the paper and printing industry as well as food, beverages and tobacco industry.
Respondents predicted expansive manufacturing industry growth to persist in the second quarter of 2019, as signalled by further gains in the PMI-BIBS to 53.21%.
By component, the manufacturing industry expansion was predicted to stem from production volume and inventories.
"Such developments are consistent with increasing business activity expected in the manufacturing industry, as indicated by the surge in the WNB of Bank Indonesia Business Survey in the second quarter of 2019, up from the previous quarter," BI's press statement said.
